Brother Vellies

The first Brother Vellies shoe known as the Velskoen (pronounced "fell-skoon") and known throughout Africa as vellies was based off of traditional African desert boots. From there the brand grew and founder Aurora James continued to take inspiration from traditional African footwear. Each shoe is handmade in South Africa, Kenya and Morocco by local artisans and the shoes are meant to preserve and celebrate the cultural spirit from which they are born.
