Designer Profile

Founded in 2013 and headed by designer Yusuke Takuhashi, Homme Plissé Issey Miyake provides innovation to contemporary menswear using the iconic Issey Miyake pleating technique inspired by the movement of dance. The textiles used have a unique wrinkle-proof, quick-drying base with uniform pleats that are added after sewing. Each cut and sew garment is placed between two pieces of special rice paper and is fed through a special knitting machine with heat. The "garment pleating" technique creates a three-dimensional structure that combines form and functionality. All Homme Plissé garments are machine washable and can dry flat in the shade.
