J.Kim is a fashion brand founded by designer Jenia Kim in 2014. Being born in Tashkent in a Soviet-Korean family and raised in Russia, Jenia has transferred her multicultural background into her work. Every J.Kim collection reflects the designer’s eagerness to find her own visual language by exploring her unique identity.
Jenia’s works are mainly inspired by cultural heritage of both Uzbekistan and Korea in all their forms, from national dresses and lifestyle to architecture and local traditions. That’s what J.Kim world is made of – a meticulously created combination of historical background and contemporary silhouettes, where imagination goes hand-in-hand with reality.
Some of the key elements of the brand’s collections are great amount of handicraft, especially by Uzbek artisans, vintage fabrics, tugun inspired garments and accessories (‘tugun” means “bundle” in Uzbek language), as well as pure forms symbolizing the Korean origin combined with bold prints, embroideries and decorative elements that take back to Jenia’s life in Uzbekistan.
