The Jazz Workshop collection pays tribute to the eponymous venue that served as the epicenter of San Francisco’s vibrant North Beach jazz scene, where open-minded music lovers, artists, beatniks, hippies, and activists would cross-pollinate ideas and germinate audacious ideals while Jazz royalty held court. From 1957 through the ‘60s, The Jazz Workshop hosted such exalted players as “Cannonball” Adderley, Coltrane, Dizzy, Miles, & Monk, with a handful of live recordings published by the likes of Capital, Pacific, Prestige, & Riverside. On one visit patrons may arrive to discover they’ll be present for a Mingus recording, and on another, they may bear witness to comedian Lenny Bruce’s infamous onstage arrest for obscenity. As they used to say at 473 Broadway, The Jazz Workshop… it’s a trip.

The Jazz Workshop collection merges our shared love for clothing and music with a range of pieces that celebrates a time and place that changed the world. The limited-edition Seersucker Cap features embroidery details and is woven in Japan, with the hallmark texture of cotton seersucker making this cap lightweight and breathable.
