Joseph Beuys: In Defense of Nature
Joseph Beuys: In Defense of Nature examines the German artist’s lifelong commitment to environmental activism and social change. Grounded in The Broad’s collection of Beuys’ multiples, the book traces his political organizing, involvement with Germany’s Green Party, and the legacy of his final major project, 7,000 Oaks. The volume also connects his work to contemporary reforestation efforts in Los Angeles through Social Forest: Oaks of Tovaangar. Edited by Andrea Gyorody and Sarah Loyer, with contributions from multiple authors, and published with The Broad.
