Ruth Asawa: The Tamarind Prints
Ruth Asawa: The Tamarind Prints documents the artist’s 1965 residency at the Tamarind Lithography Workshop in Los Angeles, where she produced a rare and experimental suite of fifty-four lithographs. Best known for her looped-wire sculptures, Asawa approached printmaking for the first time through portraiture, botanical studies, desert flora, and abstract ink compositions. Published together for the first time, these works reveal a distinct and intimate dimension of her practice shaped by material exploration and collaboration. The volume is authored by Cara Manes and Dominika Tylcz and published by The Museum of Modern Art.
