Each vintage basket is handwoven by artisans in Indonesia using a traditional and labor-intensive technique. New York-born artist, Lou Zeldis, was enchanted by Indonesian culture after spending six months of the year in Bali and surrounding islands. In Bali, he discovered the art of intricate basketry and developed a contemporary line of woven products working in collaboration with the local artisans. The Mohawk Found selection of these unique and beautiful baskets are the very last of his amazing collection after his passing 2012.
