Rachel Comey launched her label in 2001 originally as a menswear only line. Shortly afterward, women began buying clothes in the smaller sizes which led to a broadening of the label to both sexes. The collections are often vintage-inspired with a slight rock-and-roll feel, making her designs popular amongst a range of customers. Though it is no longer aimed at men, well-crafted shoes for both sexes have become a big draw for customers.
